8/3/15 Summary Day #50: Well… we made it!!!! Today was our final ride taking to the Atlantic Ocean. Although the route was a bit more hilly than we actually expected, it was beautiful. One of favorite points of the ride was at mile marker 47 were we stopped at a local bakery for coffee and pastries then off to the designated meeting location where all of the riders met for pictures, celebration and a police escort to the Atlantic Ocean. Spectators cheered as we rolled down the narrow roadway to the water and once arriving at beach we found that it was PACKED! All 30 of us walked our bikes to the ocean dipped our front wheels in the water to culminate the journey as the beach go'ers cheered us on. The Texas Train was granted the honor of pouring the bottle of water from the Pacific Ocean into the Atlantic Ocean and after washing the sand from our feet and being only 6 miles outside of the state of Main we decided to ride over that state line and eat lunch!. Back to the hotel from there, grabbed our bags, boxed the bikes for transport and off to dinner on the water. Yes what an adventure. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement below are a few stats from the journey that may be of interest.
